I dug it out

I am so lucky to have a friend like Becky. She was shuttle tatting this at the retreat and I asked her for a bird and she finished this teapot and gave it to me. She the bird in the post from yesterday. Becky is very talented at painting, tatting and now she just showed me her very first CQ block. She is a natural talent at anything she does in my opinion. Isn't it great? This will go on a block for my kitchen. I will frame the block to keep all the grease and what not off of it.

Look at this cutie!!

OMG, Look what I received in the mail today from my friend Becky. I met Becky at the NH Retreat this year and she is a beautiful person and shuttle tatter. I told her I had a blue parrot and would love a blue bird and she did it. It is the perfect size and now I am going to get a block going to use it on and then hang it in my family room. This little guy is so cute. The picture doesn't do it justice. I took about a dozen pictures and this is the best I could do. THANK YOU BECKY, it is perfect. I owe you.
PS: I still have to take a picture of the teapot she tatted at the retreat and gave. HMMMMMMMMMMM, when I finish unpacking all my goodies. Yes I am bad, I still have some supplies to unpack.

Hawk

I finally got a picture of the hawk. Here he is on the roof of my house at the oposite end of the pond. I couldn't get very close because he would of flown away. I managed to get 2 shots of him. I am going to the nature preserve tomorrow to get advice on how to deter him once again.

ETA on 6-12-09: I talked to the naturalists last night at the Farbach Werner Nature Perserve and they informed me that this hawk is a red tail. Earlier in the year we had a red shoulder. I knew he looked different but I thought he was an immature red shoulder. I was wrong. LOL Now to keep him away from my pond and fish. This is easier said than done.

Red Shouldered Hawk

He is quick and I never can get a picture of him but he has been visiting my pond for about 5 months now. He has the fish terrified. His diet consists of fish and frogs. I have one frog and I don't care if he has to eat that but don't eat my fish. Yesterday he left 2 very large feathers by the pond as proof that he was there while we were at work. I have enough plants in the pond so the fish can hid from him.
